Sampaio agrees to keep Joécio for the 2027 season

Sampaio Corrêa recommended that defender Joécio will remain for the 2027 season. The information was verified by ge, which confirmed that the agreement between the parties has already been agreed. The club, however, has not yet made the official announcement.

At 40 years old, Joécio Barbosa dos Santos is a well-known name among tricolor fans. Born in Surubim, in Pernambuco, the defender already lives in São Luís and has a career marked by different spells at Sampaio.

The defender won the 2018 Copa do Nordeste with the tricolor shirt and was also featured in the team's campaigns in Series B of the Brazilian Championship. The accumulated experience and identification with the club mark another chapter in his history with Bolivia Querida.

Joécio's career at Sampaio began in 2018. Afterwards, the defender returned to wearing the tricolor shirt between 2020 and 2023, before starting a new spell in the 2026 season. With his stay agreed for 2027, the defender will remain in the squad for another year.
