O UFC fecha a agenda de outubro na noite de Halloween, no Meta APEX, com uma luta principal de pesos leves que importa nas duas direções: Renato Moicano defendendo seu lugar no Top 10 e Tom Nolan chegando com cinco vitórias seguidas para sua primeira luta principal no UFC.
O brasileiro, ex-desafiante ao título, está em sua segunda luta principal de 2026. Em abril ele finalizou Chris Duncan no segundo round, somando às recentes vitórias sobre Benoît Saint Denis e Jalin Turner. Os tropeços nesse trecho vieram contra o atual campeão dos meio-médios Islam Makhachev e o veterano Beneil Dariush — resultados que o mantiveram na conversa dos candidatos sem o levarem de volta à disputa do título.
Do outro lado está um lutador de 26 anos em ascensão. Nolan perdeu apenas uma vez no UFC, na estreia na organização, e desde então empilhou vitórias, a maior delas uma decisão unânime sobre Farès Ziam. A sequência também inclui encerramentos no primeiro round sobre Charlie Campbell e Victor Martinez.
O casamento das lutas faz uma pergunta clara. No sábado será a primeira luta de cinco rounds de Nolan e um salto de nível — um teste para saber se ele está pronto para a elite da divisão. Para Moicano, é a chance de provar que continua sendo uma ameaça real aos nomes acima dele, e não um degrau para a próxima geração.
Na co-principal, Randy Brown e Jacobe Smith se enfrentam em uma luta de meio-médios de última hora. Smith, destaque da oitava temporada do Dana White's Contender Series, aceitou com menos de duas semanas de aviso, dias depois de vencer Bruce Whitehead no UFC 332. Ele tem quatro lutas e quatro finalizações no UFC, três delas por nocaute, e corre atrás da segunda vitória em quatro semanas.
Brown passou a maior parte da passagem pelo UFC rondando logo abaixo do Top 15 dos meio-médios. Entre 2021 e 2025 ele venceu oito de 10, com nocautes de destaque sobre Nicolas Dalby e Muslim Salikhov, e chega depois de uma derrota por decisão para Kevin Holland no início deste ano — o que o deixa faminto por retomar o embalo diante da expectativa em torno de Smith.
No card também, Yana Santos e Luana Santos entram em sequências de três vitórias, com uma vitória de peso em jogo enquanto a divisão espera por Kayla Harrison contra Amanda Nunes no UFC 334.
