Nolan credits UFC contract to a message and a Sandhagen online course
Tom Nolan says a message to Cory Sandhagen two weeks before his 2023 Contender Series bout became a promise he kept: he knocked out Bogdan Grad with the dart shot the American teaches and signed with the UFC. Nolan (11-1) now headlines for the first time on 31 October at UFC Vegas 123.

Tom Nolan diz que uma mensagem enviada antes da maior oportunidade da carreira virou uma promessa que ele cumpriu.
Duas semanas antes de sua participação no Contender Series de Dana White, em 2023, o peso-leve australiano escreveu para Cory Sandhagen, cujo curso online de striking vinha estudando, e disse que a luta terminaria em nocaute construído com uma daquelas técnicas. Ele então finalizou Bogdan Grad com o golpe chamado dart shot e assinou com o UFC.
“Mandei uma mensagem ao Cory antes do meu nocaute no Contender Series”, lembrou Nolan em entrevista pré-luta. “Eu disse: ‘ei, eu luto no Contender Series em duas semanas e vou nocautear esse cara com uma das suas técnicas’. E eu realmente usei o dart shot que ele ensina.”
Nolan (11-1) agora se prepara para seu primeiro evento principal no UFC, em 31 de outubro, em uma luta principal marcada para o Meta Apex, em Las Vegas, onde acontece o UFC Vegas 123.
A estrada desde aquele contrato foi diferente da promessa em si: ele perdeu sua única luta profissional na estreia no UFC, em 2024, e desde então venceu cinco seguidas.
