Renato uses a tyre metaphor to explain Grêmio's rebuild
Grêmio beat Athletico-PR 2-0 at the Arena to climb out of the relegation zone after five rounds, their second straight league win. Renato Portaluppi compared the job to changing four tyres with the car still running and no spare, and said the squad now understands the game plan better.

Renato Portaluppi atribuiu a retomada de confiança do elenco do Grêmio à insistência no trabalho e respondeu às cobranças que recebeu desde que voltou ao clube.
O time somou a segunda vitória consecutiva no Brasileirão, desta vez por 2 a 0 sobre o Athletico-PR, na Arena, e deixou a zona de rebaixamento depois de cinco rodadas.
O treinador recorreu à metáfora mecânica em mais de um momento da entrevista. "Quando eu cheguei estava todo mundo dando o Grêmio como rebaixado. Os resultados não vieram, vieram as críticas", lembrou ele, antes de completar: "Troquei os quatro pneus, o carro andando e sem estepe."
Na sétima partida no comando, foi a segunda vitória, ambas consecutivas. Renato valorizou a entrega do grupo e disse que os jogadores agora entendem melhor a ideia de jogo.
"Hoje os jogadores sabem o que deve ser feito dentro do campo, eu vejo o time do Grêmio correndo, se dedicando, se entregando durante os 90 minutos", afirmou.
O Grêmio vira agora para a semifinal da Copa do Brasil: no domingo, às 18h30, recebe o Atlético-MG, na Arena, no jogo de ida.
