Pedro Emanuel fields a mixed side and says he would repeat the line-up
Pedro Emanuel took responsibility for fielding a mixed Vasco side in the 4-1 defeat to Flamengo at the Nilton Santos and said he would make the same choices again. The result left the club 13th on 38 points, and they now play the first leg of the Copa do Brasil semi-final against Palmeiras.

Pedro Emanuel assumiu a responsabilidade por escalar um Vasco misto no revés de 4 a 1 diante do Flamengo, nesta quinta-feira, no Nilton Santos, pela 33ª rodada da Série A.
O treinador deixou no banco nomes como Paulo Henrique, Bruno Duarte, Santiago Sosa, Robert Renan e Alan Saldivia, com Andrés Gómez fora por dores, decisão tomada com a semifinal da Copa do Brasil no horizonte. Mesmo com o placar, disse que faria tudo igual.
"Estou solidário com o que custa perder o clássico. Foi uma pancada forte, não gostamos de perder de ninguém por um placar grande. Se me perguntassem se faria de novo as mesmas escolhas, digo a todos que faria e colocaria o mesmo time para jogar", afirmou.
Sobre a confiança nos reservas, defendeu que ela se demonstra na escalação: "Eles não jogam juntos, mas treinam todo dia juntos. Para mim, a confiança se revela de uma forma: colocar para jogar."
O português também lamentou o fato de o time não jogar em São Januário. Para ele, o ambiente do Nilton Santos não cria o mesmo vínculo entre jogadores e torcida, e citou a virada sobre o Corinthians no sábado como exemplo do peso da casa.
Com o resultado, o Vasco ficou em 13º, somando 38 pontos, e está quatro à frente do Grêmio, o primeiro dentro do Z-4. Agora vem a ida da semifinal da Copa do Brasil: domingo, às 16h, contra o Palmeiras, no Nubank Parque. Na quarta-feira, às 19h30, o time visita o Athletico-PR na Arena da Baixada.
