Conte denies “advanced” talks with United as reports swirl
Antonio Conte has denied being in “advanced negotiations” with any club after Italian newspaper La Repubblica linked him with Manchester United. The paper said he had spoken to the board about replacing Michael Carrick following Wednesday's 4-1 defeat at Como.

Antonio Conte negou estar em “negociações avançadas” com qualquer clube, depois de reportagens na Itália o ligarem ao Manchester United.
O La Repubblica afirmou na quinta-feira que o italiano havia conversado com a diretoria do United sobre substituir Michael Carrick após a derrota por 4 a 1 em Como, na quarta-feira, e que queria controle da política de transferências e a sua própria comissão técnica.
Conte respondeu no Instagram. “O meu nome tem sido ligado a inúmeros clubes, mas neste momento não há negociações em estágio avançado”, escreveu. “Li relatos sobre exigências financeiras e pedidos de controle total que eu supostamente já teria feito aos clubes mencionados, além de ressalvas sobre o que descreveram como a minha personalidade forte. Esses relatos não têm fundamento.”
Ele também falou com carinho sobre o atual ocupante do cargo. “Tenho muito respeito por Michael Carrick. Ele é uma grande pessoa, uma grande personalidade”, disse, acrescentando que não tem tempo para rumores porque o seu time joga a cada três dias.
