Why a Ballon d'Or for Kane would also be a symbolic decision

The 2026 Ballon d'Or, awarded in London on 26 October, could crown Kane 25 years after the last English winner, Michael Owen in 2001, in an edition honouring Stanley Matthews, the first winner in 1956. Kane scored 61 goals in 51 games for Bayern and 73 in 65 for club and country.
