English press call Estêvão 'forgotten' at Chelsea as fans ask for the Brazilian
Estêvão's lack of playing time at Chelsea has become a theme in the English press, which now treats him as a forgotten player under Xabi Alonso. The Brazilian has featured in just over 17% of the side's matches this season, for a Chelsea team on 13 points and fifth, with City and Arsenal level on 21.

A falta de espaço de Estêvão no Chelsea virou tema da imprensa inglesa: contratado como sensação do futebol brasileiro, o atacante virou coadjuvante no banco de reservas sob o comando de Xabi Alonso e passou a ser tratado como "jogador esquecido" na Inglaterra.
Os números ajudam a explicar o rótulo. O brasileiro participou de pouco mais de 17% dos jogos da equipe nesta temporada, num Chelsea que soma 13 pontos e ocupa a quinta colocação da Premier League, enquanto Manchester City e Arsenal dividem a liderança com 21.
A pressão cresceu na metade da semana. No duelo recente contra o Liverpool, válido pela Copa da Liga Inglesa, os torcedores gritaram o nome do ex-palmeirense, mas não convenceram Xabi Alonso a colocá-lo em campo ainda que João Pedro e Cole Palmer estivessem fora.
A página da TV inglesa BBC foi direta ao ponto: "Por que Estêvão está se tornando o “jogador esquecido” do Chelsea?". O portal The Athletic lembrou que o brasileiro brilhou na temporada passada, quando chegou a ser considerado intocável na janela de transferências, e que esse status agora "está se tornando um problema" para o treinador.
Na defesa do jogador, o jornal The Sun estampou que "o Chelsea é melhor com Estêvão" e que "Xabi Alonso está errado ao pressionar o craque brasileiro a sair do time". Já a rádio Talksport destacou a falta de sintonia entre treinador e jogador e alertou que a torcida "se voltará contra Xabi Alonso" caso o tratamento estranho siga.
