One frame, a wall of smoke and the night the Milan derby stopped being football
A single photograph still explains what happened in the 2005 Champions League Milan derby: Rui Costa at rest, Marco Materazzi leaning into him and the scene drowning in red smoke. The match ended after 73 minutes with Milan 3-0 up on aggregate, and Uefa fined Inter £132,000 and ordered four games behind closed doors.
