Dakar Rally will not be held in Saudi Arabia in 2027; new location due soon

ASO and SMC confirmed the 2027 Dakar Rally will not be held in Saudi Arabia because of the geopolitical situation in the region. The 49th edition goes ahead from 1 to 15 January in a different territory to be announced, and the rally is due back in the kingdom in 2028.
